HOW CAN THE TRAVEL CLUB PROVIDE THIS TRIP?

Our 33 Year travel experience is completely unique because we are NOT a travel agency and we only provide specific educational travel experiences. Our non-profit (501c3) trip is provided by vendors at a substantial discount because of the charity fundraising educational mission of our travel club to support the local community. There are no other charges or commissions for the travel experience. You then have access to this significantly discounted Travel Club trip and all-new trips that are ADDED WEEKLY.

FLY NON STOP FROM MIAMI TO DUBAI

Emirates Airlines is considered the best airline in the world and we encourage you to look at their non stop flight from Miami. Many US Carriers also fly to Dubai.

AIR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRAVEL CLUB TRIP AND HERE IS WHY
Most of our Travel Club members wish to handle their own air reservations. This is because airlines have so many various offers on choice of flights, seat assignment at time of booking, baggage inclusions, boarding order, layover and connection times and issues related to change fees. Also, if you have any emergency issues before or during your travel our members should be in control of their own tickets and emergency needs. As a result it is counterproductive to have a third party involved in your air ticket. The Travel Club recommends you do not purchase your airline ticket earlier than 90 days prior to departure and that you can use a tracking tool (like google or kayak to follow air flight costs and the absolute best choices for your air.)

AMERICAN LGBTQ TRAVEL TO THE GULF REGION

Happening Travel Club and Sunshine Cathedral has brought groups to conservative Muslim countriesย before of both Egypt and Turkey.ย  Queer News Tonight broadcast the news show at the Great Pyramid of Giza.ย  All of these activities were warmly welcomed by Governmentย authorities. This trip has the full support of the destinations of Dubai, UAE, Oman and Qatar.ย  Many major LGBTQ travel companies have begun travel to the region including Vacaya and Atlantis.ย  We understand that some members of our community would not be comfortable visiting this region.ย  However, being respectful about the customs and traditions is something that is unique in the world for travelers and the Gulf is no different.ย  You will be traveling with experts on the region and LGBTQ experts to provide a rich introduction on LGBTQ life in this part of the world.ย  It will be an historic and an amazing experience for our LGBTQ community guests.

WOMEN & DRESS IN THE GULF REGION

There is very little expectation to change your dress as an American tourist in the Gulf Region.ย  Just as Sunshine Cathedral’s previous experiences in Turkey and Egypt, we expect there will be absolutely no issues for our guests.ย  In general, American women should dress more modestly in public places out of respect for the local Islamic culture and norms. There is not a strictly enforced official dress code for tourists (except in specific places like mosques). The Happening Travel Club will provide extensive advice to make your experience in The Gulf wonderful. In places like shopping malls or markets or on public transport, the general rule is the same as European countries and Cathedrals… to cover your shoulders and knees. Best to not wear sleeveless tops, tank tops etc.ย  Pants, jeans or skirts and dresses (that are at least knee-length) are recommended.ย  If you visit a religious site it is recommended to carry a lightweightย scarf, pashmina or cardigan. If you do not have them the site willย provide it for your use. American women tourists are very welcomed to the Gulf region and are treated with greatย respect.ย ย

Day 3

DUBAI COMPREHENSIVE SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Today you enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Dubai. It’s a marvel that has featured the highest and most unique skyline built in the 21st century. At the heart of Dubai’s beauty lies its iconic and revolutionary architecture. The city’s skyline is a testament to human ingenuity, dominated by the slender, silvery needle of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. This architectural marvel offers panoramic views of the cityscape, the sprawling desert, and the turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf. The Burj is more than 163 floors at nearly 2800 feet (two and half times taller than the Empire State Building. Not far away, the sail-shaped silhouette of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah stands as a symbol of ultimate luxury, its elegant form a beacon on the coastline. See the Museum of the Future, an intricate, calligraphy-adorned torus, further exemplifies Dubai’s commitment to groundbreaking design that is both visually stunning and intellectually stimulating. The sheer scale and ambition of Dubai’s large-scale development projects are another cornerstone of its beauty. Visit The Palm Jumeirah, a colossal man-made archipelago (an island nearly 6 miles across) built in the shape of a palm tree, is a marvel of engineering that can be seen from space. It is so large it can be seen from space. It is home to luxurious villas, high-end hotels, and pristine beaches, creating a unique and picturesque waterfront community. Similarly, The World Islands, an artificial archipelago constructed in the rough shape of a world map, showcases a level of creative ambition that is unparalleled. Dubai’s beauty is also amplified by the striking contrast between its urban core and the surrounding natural landscape. The city rises dramatically from the golden sands of the Arabian Desert, creating a surreal and unforgettable panorama. You will experience the serene beauty of the desert with its rolling dunes and unique flora and fauna, offering a tranquil escape from the urban hustle. Day 12

SHIP ARRIVES IN ABU DHABI

Abu Dhabi now has one of the highest per-capita incomes in the world. The emirate is characterized by three political or geographic divisions: Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and the offshore islands. Abu Dhabi City, the seat of government of the UAE and the nation’s largest city (pop. 243,000), is quite modern and clean. Date palms, nestled between the glass and steel high-rises, give the city a bit of soul, but it is still primarily an administrative center. Attractions include the Petroleum Exhibition, suqs, an old palace and many newer palaces owned by local sheiks. The corniche (a walled coastal road) runs about 8 mi/ 13 km – it’s a lovely boulevard along the Arabian (Persian) Gulf. The city also has an attractive park with beautiful flower gardens and a 2,200 year-old tomb, known as the Round Structure. You will disembark your lovely cruise ship and check into your first class (3 star), deluxe (4 star) or luxury (5 star) hotel.

Day 13

From the awe-inspiring grandeur of one of the world’s most beautiful mosques to world-class museums and thrilling entertainment hubs. The heart of your Abu Dhabi tour lies the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece. This opulent structure of white marble, intricate floral designs, and shimmering chandeliers is a symbol of Islamic art and a testament to the nation’s founding father. Explore its serene courtyards and the main prayer hall, which houses the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet. You will see Qasr Al Watan, the Presidential Palace. This working palace offers a unique glimpse into the UAE’s political and cultural history through its grand halls, extensive library, and impressive collection of diplomatic gifts. You also see The Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island. This iconic UAE version of the famous Paris museum features a stunning “rain of light” dome, and showcases a vast collection of art and artifacts that span cultures and civilizations, telling the story of human creativity.
